The Landing

The Landing - Walking Alongside Survivors of Human Trafficking

Walking alongside survivors of human trafficking and sexual exploitation as they take steps toward safety, healing, and freedom.

Houston's first drop-in center for trafficking survivors, meeting people where they are—whether they've been identified as victims or not—because everyone deserves to be loved, safe, and free.

The Human Trafficking Crisis in Houston

Houston faces one of the most severe human trafficking problems in the United States. Thousands are trapped in the commercial sex trade every day, hidden by poverty, homelessness, and abuse.

#1 Most calls to National Human Trafficking Hotline (2007-2016)
79,000 Minor and youth victims in Texas alone
<2% Of victims are currently identified
2,020+ Clients served by The Landing

The challenge is clear: Most victims remain unidentified and underserved. Many don't realize they're being trafficked. Traditional services require official victim identification, leaving thousands without access to help they desperately need.

Bissonnet Corridor: The Landing operates on Bissonnet Street in Southwest Houston, a nationally known hotspot for prostitution and human trafficking. This location allows us to be present where survivors need us most.

What Makes Us Different

The Landing takes a unique, trauma-informed approach inspired by faith and focused on meeting people where they are.

Our distinctive model:

🤝 Meet Where They Are

We serve anyone in the sex trade, whether or not they've been officially identified as a trafficking victim

🚪 Remove Barriers

No requirements or judgments—survivors can access support at any stage of their journey

💝 Faith-Based Love

Fueled by the love of Christ, we honor each person's inherent dignity and worth

🏥 Trauma-Informed Care

All services designed with understanding of trauma and paths to healing

Why this matters:

  • Less than 1% of human trafficking victims are identified
  • Many victims don't even realize they're being trafficked
  • Traditional services require victim identification, creating barriers to help
  • By serving anyone who has experienced the sex trade, we eliminate these barriers
  • This approach increases victim identification and connects more people with life-saving support

Founded in 2015, The Landing started as a dream to reach survivors who were slipping through the cracks. Our founders wanted to create a safe space for survivors, regardless of whether they were ready to leave their current situation.
