About the Organization

Compudopt provides computers, digital literacy training, and tech education to under-resourced youth and families. Their mission is to eliminate the digital divide and empower individuals to succeed in an increasingly digital world.

How You Can Help

Volunteers are essential to Compudopt’s mission! Whether you're tech-savvy or simply passionate about equity and education, there’s a place for you. You'll find all current listings, group opportunities, and sign-up forms on their website. Background checks and brief orientation may be required for some roles.

Volunteer Roles

  • Device Prep & Inventory: Clean, test, and prepare donated computers for distribution

  • Distribution Events: Help manage community events where families receive computers

  • Tech Support: Assist with basic digital literacy instruction and setup

  • Mentorship & Training: Teach computer skills to youth or adults

  • Coding & Tech Education: Support instruction in workforce programs or youth coding camps

Time Commitment

  • Flexible shifts (2–4 hours) available on weekdays and weekends

  • One-time, recurring, and group opportunities available

Location

  • Houston, TX (and other cities nationally)

  • In-person roles; some virtual mentorship opportunities available depending on the program
